We are CYBER ONIONS, a small web development and information security studio.
We work in cybersecurity and ethical hacking, with Linux servers and VPS, with
WSL2 environments, and with technical training. We also develop in PHP and
JavaScript, with web applications and databases, using only open source
technology.
WSL2 was born to solve a precise problem: giving Windows developers a real Linux environment without heavy VMs. Here is why Hermes Agent runs better on it, and how this architecture came about.
The IT department cannot protect an organisation that does not know its own processes. Why collaboration between security, business and users is the control that makes all the other controls effective, and how to build it without turning it into an annual memo.
What Nostr is, how a protocol without central servers works, and why the privacy it promises is real but has precise limits that nobody talks about. With the specification read at the source, the history, and the three ways it can be compromised.
Version control is not a backup and it is not a way of working: it is the reason why a software project never dies. What distinguishes Git from GitHub and GitLab, the difference nobody explains to you, and the private and public key pair with the story of RSA from 1973 onwards.
Not a list of courses, but the order in which things are learned: the technical foundations, reading other people’s code, the first laboratory, and the three things almost everyone gets wrong at first. With what really matters, and what is only noise.
